Hi Parents,

Welcome! Here at The Giggle Patch Preschool our Philosophy is that
children need structure, variety, consistency and understanding. Through
teacher directed learning and child initiated learning through play, the
children are able to acquire the skills they need during their early childhood
years to prepare them for Kindergarten. Their social, emotional & cognitive
development will thrive on the structured play and the teacher directed
learning opportunities created here at The Giggle Patch Preschool. Teaching
children at this early stage in life is invaluable to their future education. You
can thank yourself now! The choice to send your child to Preschool has
given your child the very best start in their long educational journey!

Our goal is to provide all of the children in our care, a safe, comfortable,
stimulating, fun and educational environment that will support and
encourage their physical and emotional growth and development.

The Giggle Patch Preschool our Curriculum includes weekly lesson plans that
incorporate a special topic, a number, a letter, writing skills, fine & gross
motor skill activities & learning concepts critical to their learning
development. Every child will be fully prepared with everything needed to
know upon enter into Kindergarten; Primary & Secondary Colors, Numbers 1-
20, ABC’s, reading skills, gross motor coordination skills, fine motor
coordination skill s& more. Writing their names, knowing their address & phone
# is not necessary for entering into Kindergarten but will be taught to each
child. All children have their own learning paces and they are all not at the
same developmental stage. Depending on the child’s capabilities & their
developmental stage, they may or may not be ready to learn
the information.
A child will never be pushed or forced to learn more than necessary to enter
Kindergarten. But if their capable, there’s no reason why they should not be
taught the additional info.

I welcome questions, feedback, or discussions of any kind that are oriented
towards a positive outcome for the child(ren). It is only through
parent/teacher and director interaction that a goal of quality, nurturing care
can be achieved. Sensitive issues will be discussed in private outside of
regular preschool hours either by telephone or
one on one conference. We
have an "open door policy" which means that parents can stop by and observe
their child at any time without calling. Please be aware that our door will be
locked for the safety of the children but when you ring the bell, one of the
assistants will open it for you right away.

Our Discipline Policy includes age appropriate time outs. Ie. 3 year olds sit
out for 3 minutes and 4 year olds sit out for 4 minutes. The child will always
be within sight at all times during their time out and then they’ll be spoken to
about their behavior and why it was unacceptable. If a child’s behavior
become
s too disruptive to the group or a danger to the teachers or other
children, then parent(s) will be notified with a phone conference or a
ono on
one
parent conference to create a plan of action. Secondly, if the plan does
not work out then a warning letter will be sent home. Lastly, if the child’s
behavior does not improve then unfortunately the child will be released from
preschool.

Please be prompt upon Drop-off and Pick-up times. Children may not be
picked up late under any circumstances. If you can not be on time for some
unforeseen reason then you must have a back up person waiting for your
child at pick-up time. Late penalties will be charged if parents are not waiting
for their child at the end of their session.  A late fee of $20.00 will be
charged if a parent shows up later than 5 minutes after pick-up time. Please
be respectful of this policy.
